Upcoming Holiday Closure: In observance of a holiday, Agilent CrossLab/iLab Operations Software Support Help Desk will be closed during U.S. hours on Monday, January 19th, 2026. During this time, support in the U.S. and Canada will be unavailable. APAC and EU Support will remain open as normal. For urgent matters, please add "Urgent" to your ticket/email subject or press "1" when prompted to escalate a call on the iLab Support phone, and we will prioritize those requests first.

Light Microscopy Imaging Center at Indiana University Bloomington

Overview of Services

                                                                                                                                                      

Purpose

  •     To provide user-friendly access to state of the art light microscopy for the IU research community.
  •     To promote the development of researchers that are knowledgeable, confident and comfortable in the use of microscopes.


Facility

  •     Microscopes: Widefield, Deconvolution, Scanning and Spinning Disk Confocals.  All with digital imaging systems and software.
  •     Image Processing and analysis workstations and software.
  •     Wet bench for sample preparation
  •     24 hour access available

 

Services

  •     Consultation on experimental design for the best use of the microscopes
  •     User training
  •     Help with image processing and analysis
  •     Microscopy Courses

 

Access

 

The LMIC is open to all Indiana University researchers.  We also invite other university and commercial researchers to use our facility. The LMIC is located in the basement of Myers Hall, room 059 (map).

 

New users should contact the imaging center to get started (LMIC or 812-856-1734) - or just drop by.  All new users must be trained by LMIC staff.

 

The imaging center is available 24 hours a day to approved, experienced users.
