Transgenic Animal Core

Overview of Services

The Transgenic Animal Core at Indiana University School of Medicine is an institutionally subsidized shared resource whose mission is to provide advanced genome editing technologies and mouse cryopreservation services to Indiana University and external users by assisting in the generation of genetically modified organisms in a cost-effective manner while maintaining and expanding genetically modified animal models.

 

The Transgenic Animal Core offers five categories of services: 
  1. Mouse sperm & embryo cryopreservation. 
  2. Mouse sperm cryopreservation with verification. 
  3. IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) to restore mouse lines. 
  4. Pronuclear injection/Electroporation to assist in the generation of genetically modified organisms. 
  5. Storage of Cryopreserved sperm or embryos
